Basted and Ready to Go

A while back I posted a picture of a quilt I had up on my design wall to work on placement of the blocks.  I moved a few blocks around and pieced the top together.  This weekend I based the quilt and began quilting it this week.  Made using a Wonderland honeybun.

The lighting was terrible, so the colors aren't exactly accurate, but we've had rain for the past 4 days, so I haven't been able to take advantage of any good natural light.  

I began quilting it with some straight lines lengthwise about 1/4" apart.  I'm loving the quilting.  I wasn't too crazy about this quilt before hand, but now that I've began quilting it, it's really making the top.  It's amazing with quilting can do to a top.  I'll post more pictures of the quilted top soon.

Designer Mystery BOM - Block Three

I finished the third block in the Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery BOM.  This one was the easiest to piece together out of the three so far.

And here are the first three blocks all together.

I'm loving this quilt more and more.  Every block is just so cute.  I can't wait to see what comes next.

Radiant Star BOM - Block 3

Last night I finished making block 3 of the Carol Doak Simply Radiant Star BOM.

I love the blue squares in this block.  I think this came out cute.

Here are all three blocks together.  I really like how they look all together.  I'm using a fat quarter bundle of Blush for the entire quilt.

Lowell Quilt Festival 2010

Last weekend was the Lowell Quilt Festival.  I went with my aunt KK to do a little shopping and see some of the great quilts.  The festival was different this year, in a new venue with fewer vendors and not as many quilts.  They also didn't hold classes this year.  Quite frankly, I was kinda disappointed in this year's festival compared to previous ones.

Here are some photos of some of the great quilts.  The lighting wasn't very great and I just had my point and shoot camera, but I think you'll still enjoy them.
