Red Sox Quilt Auction

Those of you who know me or have followed my blog know that I'm a Red Sox fan. I know there are some fellow Sox fans who follow my blog based on some of the comments I've received. I figured I'd share with you a really cool quilt that's up for auction by the New England Quilt Museum.


The quilt has been autographed by 24 members of the Boston Red Sox. All proceeds of this quilt will go to the New England Quilt Museum. The auction is up on ebay and goes until September 25th. Here's a link to the auction. A list of all of the players who autographed the quilt can be found on the ebay page. I hope some great Sox fan ends up with this quilt.

It's Baseball Season!!!!!

Im so excited that it's baseball season once again.  Opening day was supposed to be today, but it was pouring here practically all day.  

Growing up in New England my entire life, I'm a die-hard, lifelong Red Sox fan.  It has been a great time to be a sports fan in New England this decade.  So, GO SOX!!!

I've got all of my blocks for my bento box done, so all I need to do is piece it together now.  It's going to end up being 4x5 squares.  Hopefully I'll have some pictures to show later on in the week.  

KK's Jelly Roll Quilt

A few posts back I showed you my braid quilt made out of a jelly roll. I made most of my quilt during a "quilting day" with my aunt, KK. She got most of hers done that day too. She sent me a picture of her completed top last week that she just finished. Isn't it wonderful? It has this calming, tranquil feeling to it that makes you just want to cuddle up under it.

It's completely different than most of the quilts we've made. We have a very similar quilting style. We both tend to gravitate towards the more modern, funky fabrics and colors.

On another note, I'm excited that Jim Rice got voted into the hall of fame today. As a die-hard Red Sox fan my entire life, this made me very happy. Congrats Jim! (like he reads this blog...)
